Last Week of Regular Season

We are approaching the end of the regular season!

Please take this opportunity to double-check your scores against our sheets online and let us know immediately if you see any mistakes.

Playoff information will be updated once we receive all scores from week 14, so please turn in your envelopes (as well as any late ones)  as soon as possible!   We will contact the Captains of the playoff teams when the final numbers have been calculated.

Thanks to everyone for your continued participation with JPF Pool League!

Updates: Rules & Schedule

There has been a rule update:

Apparently, the rule for  “Scratching on the 8”  was not written very clearly, so we have made that clarification to both the online and printer versions.  If you scratch while attempting the 8-ball, it is an Automatic Loss.

There has been a schedule/team update for B Division:

The team from Mike’s Place has moved to Courts Lounge, and will be known now as Courts 2.

COVID Notice

All players must follow the COVID rules & regulations set by each bar they go to.

JPF has no control over what rules are posted by the county, cities, or bars.

Please remember:  If bars get shut down, there will be no places to have our league games!

We thank you for your cooperation.

About Masks…

We would like to remind everyone that if the host bar you are in requires masks, please follow their rules and bring a mask to your league night!

Welcome Back !!!

We know it has been a VERY long wait, but JPF is happy to announce that league play can begin again!

We’re working on getting everything updated, so thank you in advance for your patience.

The Captains’ Meeting will be July 20th at 7pm at Normandy House Lounge

Please bring your team registration fee of $125  (Checks made to:  JPF Pool League)

Update from our League Director

Greetings members of the JPF Pool League,

I hope this message finds you all well & healthy.  After going over the regulations for businesses related to the COVID-19 epidemic & talking with some business owners, it seems that bars will be the last type of businesses to reopen.  No one can say for sure when that will be, or if all of the bars in our league will reopen.  It is possible that a few will stay closed permanently.  After careful consideration, I have finally come to the conclusion that playoffs for this season will not continue.  I know there will be some players that will not agree with this, but I do feel it is the correct decision & it is for the best. Unfortunately, there will not be any “champions” this season, but there will be a 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place, determined by the regular season’s rankings.

For the A Division  —   The teams that played or had a 1st round bye will keep that bonus money.  The teams that were supposed to play but could not will split that round’s bonus.  The remainder of playoff bonus money will go back into the ‘general funds’ & be dispersed to the teams, increasing the dollar amount per win total.

For the B Division  —  No playoff matches took place, so no bonus money will be awarded.  Instead, the total amount of playoff bonus money will be added to this season’s dollar amount per win total.

Sometime in the future, when bars do reopen & everyone feels comfortable, I feel that we owe it to our sponsors to show our appreciation by having an awards banquet for both divisions with trophies & plaques as usual, envelopes handed out, & a top shooters tournament will be held.

I know there are players in the league that have lost their jobs & have little to no income.  Therefore, I have decided to hand out team-winnings now, with one caveat:  I will only be dispersing about 90% of the total dollar amount.  There are 2 reasons for this:  #1 – I do not want to be short any funds if any unforeseen factors arise, & #2 – when we finally do have the banquets, I don’t want to hand out empty envelopes.  Do not worry, you will receive the full dollar amount after any & all expenses have been determined.  The money distribution sheets will be posted for all to see.

Captains, you are all welcome to make arrangements to meet with me to receive your winnings at your earliest convenience.  (Note: weekends or weekday-nights are more flexible for me.)  I believe you all have my phone number.

Thank you for your understanding & patience in these very trying times.

Good health to you all!

PLAYOFFS POSTPONED !!!

We are sure that everyone is aware of all the business closures throughout Santa Clara County.  Unfortunately, this includes our host bars.  So until further notice, Playoff matches are postponed until the COVID-19 situation is contained & businesses can be safely re-opened for patrons.

We hope everyone stays safe & healthy in the meantime!

JPF will contact Captains directly when Playoffs are cleared to begin again.

Thanks for your understanding

End of Regular Season

The end of the regular season is almost here, which means that the Playoffs is right around the corner!

JPF encourages all participants to double-check the stats spreadsheets.

We always try to be as accurate as possible, but your help is appreciated.

CAPTAINS:  Please make sure you get your final week envelopes to us on time, so there is no delay in Playoff notifications.

Happy Shooting!

A sad message from our Director…

Good evening to all;
It is with a heavy heart & great sadness to inform you that Richard Quineros, (better known simply as “Q”), has passed away.  If  you were lucky enough to have known him, you would know what a truly wonderful person he was.
Please take a moment of your time to pay your respects & join us in a “Celebration of Life”  on Saturday Jan. 11, 2020 at the Masonic center, 2500 Masonic Dr., San Jose, 95125 from 12pm to 4pm. Food & drinks will be served. Please feel free to wear SJ Sharks, SF Giants, LA Lakers, or SF 49er’s gear in his memory.  I hope to see as many of you as possible.
Thank you,
David De Franco

Delay on stats

There will be a delay in the stat reports this week. I’m having an issue with my computer. It should be fixed in the next couple of days.

Thanks for your patience!

Helen

Happy Halloween!

JPF hopes that everyone is having a great Halloween week!

We are always adding to the Events page, so take a look!

Reminder:  Please double-check your scoresheets at the end of league night.  There have been many incomplete sheets lately, and that delays stat reports.  BOTH Captains should be looking at the sheets, and there’s no reason that game results should be blank!
